Pancit Puti: A Beginner’s Guide

* 1 lb thinly sliced pork belly
* 2 shallots, thinly sliced
* 4 cloves garlic, minced
* 3 cups water
* 1 cup chopped cabbage
* 1/2 cup chopped carrots
* 1/2 cup frozen peas
* Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking oil for frying


  1. Bring water to a boil and add pork belly, cooking for 5-7 minutes until it turns pink. Remove and set aside.
  2. Heat medium heat in the same pot with cooking oil and add shallots and garlic, frying until crispy and golden brown.
  3. Add cabbage, carrots, and peas to the pot and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes or until vegetables are cooked but retain some crunch. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Fry pork belly in a separate pan until crispy and golden brown.
  5. Combine cooked pork belly with vegetable mixture and stir-fry for another minute or two.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious pancit puti!
